“Sarah has been a brilliant Physio for me over the past two ski seasons. In 2009 I was happily working towards the final level of the European Ski Instructor qualifications when I was literally and figuratively stopped in my tracks as I ruptured my ACL in my left knee. I subsequently stopped skiing seriously for 8 years before coming back to skiing last year to have another go at the final level of qualifications. Whilst I have invested in on-snow training, the work with Sarah off-snow has been of equal or greater value. I came to her with complaints that I was getting pains in my ACL-knee and I thought it was having an impact on my skiing. As is often the case, things were more complicated than they first appeared and Sarah discovered that the driver for the knee pain was coming from my feet. Through a combination of massage, exercises and self-cues she has managed to introduce some much needed flex back into both of my feet. There have been three main results. Firstly, my knee doesn’t hurt anymore. Secondly I am much more comfortable in my ski boots (quite an accomplishment given ski boots’ reputation for discomfort). Finally, my skiing performance has greatly improved. The final level of exams is now looking attainable, after the discouragement following my injury. The last thing I should say about Sarah is that she is a super-friendly, non-intimidating person who has a lovely manner about her, and she also has the knowledge intelligence to piece the puzzle together. I’d highly recommend her, as she has been brilliant for me.”
